A Message From Our President
My name is Antoine Williams and I was born and raised in the great city of Washington, DC. Like most kids in DC at the time, I grew up playing mostly football and basketball, as my exposure to baseball was minimal. I began playing baseball at my local recreation center, then moved to the Police Boy’s and Girl’s Club #8. I played my high school ball at Woodrow Wilson HS, where I won the DC Gatorade Player of the Year award in 1991, and went on to play four years of college baseball at Catholic University, where I was a three year captain. Despite my successes, I experienced firsthand that there was a lack of options for local ballplayers to develop in the offseason. The offseason was a critical time in my development, as my high school league did not provide a consistent competitive schedule. I was fortunate enough to have played for the "Mt. Pleasant Braves," founded by Officer Norberto Torres and prior to that playing for the legendary Buddy Burkhead. This experience impacted me beyond the field. It brought positive male role models in my life, and gave me the opportunity to become the first person in my family to attend college. Without this experience, there is no such thing as DC Dynasty Baseball.
When I started teaching and coaching baseball at The Maret School in 1998, it became clear to me that the travel baseball landscape had not evolved very much since my childhood. There were a few high school aged teams that competed locally and rarely left the confines of DC to compete with other teams from the region. In fact, many of the best players from DC had to look outside the city to find teams and organizations that would help them develop. I took this as a personal challenge to keep players in the city.
I founded DC Dynasty in 2002 to bring baseball back to DC. I knew how much I had learned through my own playing career, and I wanted to give every motivated young ballplayer an opportunity to improve themselves as athletes and as people. Today, Dynasty offers multiple travel teams every season (spring, summer, and fall), along with developmental camps, clinics, strength and conditioning training, and private lessons. In 2012 we opened a full-service indoor facility so we could continue to develop our players year-round. We are committed to providing opportunities to play baseball and improve as an individual to anyone who wants to take advantage of them.
DC Dynasty is not my job, it is my mission. I have invested a great deal of time and energy in the youth of DC and the game of baseball, and I look forward to the challenge of meeting your expectations!
